I was fasinated to come across this story during a recent scour of the web for some classic T's.
Edoc Laundry the clothing line, based in Seattle, doubles as an interactive game – players buy clothes, wear them and watch out for other players. Clues are hidden in the patterns on the clothes, or even inside the garments, and the plot is advanced by entering the key words into edoc Laundry’s website www.edoclaundry.com.
The Contagious factor of the clothing has been picked up on by various TV shows in the States including teen favourite the O.C. and CSI:NY. Anthony Zuiker, the creator of CSI:NY has written a script for the show based around the concept and t-shirts, which will debut on 11th October in America. CSI’s 14 million viewers will be treated to ‘Hung Out to Dry’, which will see the investigators follow clues printed on the T-shirts, worn by the murderers. Zuiker comments: ‘the concept of communicating a secret narrative through puzzles and codes was very exciting to me… that the medium is an everyday item – a t-shirt – makes it even more fascintating’.
